The production of offshore wind turbine blades for the North Sea will be increased.
This has been announced as part of the PM’s plan to further develop manufacturing facilities, providing more jobs, funded, in part, by the Government.

One's first reaction is of British firms being supported, aiding their research at the fore-front of advanced technology.
This far from the truth: Siemens has its thick finger in this pie and its money-pocket is held wide.

Even when Siemens also invest in UK projects, home-grown firms are ultimately being ignored. These are very important in acquiring the local expertise so necessary in replacing Siemens et al.

Siemens is but one of many firms involved in large projects in the UK. Apart from the obvious gain, no matter how minimal, there is also a potential future security threat.
