Go outside so you are caught on the Ring camera. Share that recording with your son and see if it deletes the recording. My guess is it won’t

Do the clips come to an app? My camera does (not blink) and you can download them

Yes they come to the app,if i download it to my iphone will it still be in the motion list,as a pensioner i am not very savvy with these things and worried i will do it wrong and lose the video altogether.

that is a very good idea Barry

Thanks again Barry,you were right.
Glad you now know for sure, queen :)
Have the police been?
How times change. Way back in the Seventies I once reported suspicious activity I spotted near my house in the small hours and the police were round in 5 minutes.
Canary, did you phone whilst the suspicious activity was occurring?
Very often householders aren't aware anything has happened until hours later when they see it on their CCTV / doorbell recordings. No point in the police rushing to the scene

No Barry and it's been a week now since it was reported.
That's not good, queen :(
Question Author
No it's not good Barry, sign of the times i guess,if they havn't been by Saturday i will go to the police station which is only open 3 days a week!
Lots of police stations have closed over the years - to be fair I think the last time I went to a police station was in 1973 when I found a handbag in a phone box.
Now of course the police don't deal with lost property unless it is hazardous or valuable.

Still no sign of police but i have a name for the woman who was at my door.A local drug dealer who has spent time in prison twice for stealing and assaulting a policeman, you name it shes done it.
Oh my word. How did you get that info? Get back to the police, hopefully they will be more interested now

Barry i shared the video to my daughter who has worked at tescos for 26 years and 2 colleagues who know every man and his dog said thats her 100percent so i searched her name in our local paper and it's not someone you would want knocking your door at 10.50pm at night. She was heavy breathing and chanting the same 6 numbers over and over again.
I once called the police with some suspicious activity that I had caught on my CCTV. I was then subject to a lecture by the operator as to the legality of CCTV and data protection etc. Never mind the damage to vehicles I had reported.

I imagine after I had given the duty officer chapter and verse on my perfectly legal use of said equipment, said operator might have been given "words of advice".

Unfortunately tho, queen, unless a crime was committed the police are not able (or likely) to do anything. They will likely just log it (if that). I would advise you to save the footage though.

Thank you all,my laptop died a death last week but my sons here now and has resolved the problem. The police finally came yesterday so hopefully the matter is resolved and we informed them about all the drug dealing thats going on here too.
Barmaid, I often see appeals from my local police force asking people to check their CCTV and dashcams. The police have knocked my door twice asking me to check mine - once when a neighbour got burgled and the second time when another neighbour had petrol splashed all over her door and car.

queen, I'm really pleased that the police have been out, eventually. Still keep the video, though as you just never know if you will need it.

Question Author
Thanks Barry i will do that.
