Is anyone here using W11 yet? How are you finding it? Was thinking I might wait a while to see if any bugs appear.

quite happy with Windows 10... so far
apparently my three year old laptop isn't compatible for win 11, thanks for nothing microsoft . . .
my lappy is only 8 months old, doubt if i will worry about windows 11 just yet.
First you will need to ensure your machine is cabable of running it.

I did write about this a while ago but got shot down in flames by the usual know it alls so I wont go into it again. (I do actually work in IT).

And no, the usual rule in computing is dont be the Guinea pig unless you do as I do and dedicate one machine for such a purpose (I am part of teh Windows/Office insider program). In fact many large corporations wait until the last minute to ensure it is really stable. The code in these op systems is horrendus.

Try this link but be aware the sting is in the 'approved' processor.

Win 10 is going to be supported until October 14, 2025 according to MS. So plenty of time yet.

aelmpvw, you probably fall foul of the approved processor (as do all my really fast but not brand new machines)

Oh dear - my Celeron processor is "not supported".

No worries - W10 it is for now!

Doesn't support mine either. Everything else is fine but not the processor. Not buying new one yet.
My PC is also not compatible - I say thank goodness for that !! PC is now 5years old but had a new 500 Gb SSD installed last year and all is fine, so will wait until this one gives up the ghost, at which time I would probably buy a new one with W11 pre-installed.

W10 is fine, no point in upgrading until it goes out of support.
I have Wndows 7 and I am still receiving updates.
windooors 7? Looooxury!
The original compatibility checker for W11 was found to be faulty and withdrawn as it was, pretty much, saying anything over a year old was incompatible. I see nothing in the spec for 11 that holds any real interest for the average user. I followed the beta programme for Win 10 for several years and did not once see any improvement that had any value for me.
I like the idea of using Android apps on my PC but get round that with an emulator.
