I only sell occasionally. Last time I sold, the money was paid through paypal.
Now it seems it's paid direct to my bank account.
I sold an item for £21.01.
Postage was £3.20 which I paid (postage paid by buyer in the transaction).
So the total I was due was £24.21. Less eBay fee.
EBay went me £20.81. So do eBay deduct the postage now. Where does the £3.20 go?

so ebay took £3.40 . Maybe thats there fee? Seems highish
that was their fee nowt to do with postage, you can look up your account details and get it fully itemised.
....their fee is based on priced + postage. Changed a while back to counter people selling stuff for 1p + £10 postage etc.
default fees for most things are 12.8% + 30p so...
12.8 * 24.21 * 100 = 3.10 + 30p = £3.40 so I reckon you owe them 20p!
Yes their fee includes postage now which is a bit cheeky. I can’t understand why they insist my sales are made direct to my bank instead of PayPal, which suited me better. Also when I buy something on eBay now, I can still buy with PayPal, so not all sellers have to use their bank account. I would love to know why but they don’t answer my question when I email them.
TTT- they did take £3.40. I think needawin didnt calculate the exact short fall and just assumed theyd taken off the 3.20 postage
The total price was £24.21 and he received £21.81 which is a difference of £3.40 so he owes nothing to eBay.
bobinwales: "TTT- they did take £3.40. I think needawin didnt calculate the exact short fall and just assumed theyd taken off the 3.20 postage " - yeah I should have checked his arithmetic on that I assumed it was a coincidence that the fee just happened to match the postage. So they took the correct amount.
So when I pay someone with PayPal, does it go into their bank account and not into their Paypal account? If not this means some sellers are allowed to still use PayPal to sell, but not me !
All sellers can use PayPal to sell, smurf. What problems are you having?
eBay have told me I have to use my bank account for sales now and won’t let me use my PayPal account. I emailed them about it and they didn’t reply. Is there an option online where I can change it?
Won’t let me use PayPal as a payment option for selling, only a bank account or a credit card. Just tried.
Buyers can use PayPal still but sellers cannot and eBay will pay them using the sellers' bank accounts.
smurf: "So when I pay someone with PayPal, does it go into their bank account and not into their Paypal account? " - no it goes to their paypal account. Ebay have chosen not to use paypal for payments out.

I preferred the old system. Do they automatically take your fees etc from your bank now. I've just had a statement but it used to send a link to pay it. There is no link
tamaris, that has not changed.
It seems to on my account. I will need to call them.
