How To Exit Siri On Ipad

I have just restored my ipad using itunes which worked well.
However, when I switch on ipad, Siri takes over the screen and I cannot exit the screen to go to settings to remove it from the system. I have tried clicking the side button which just turns on Siri again. Is there a way of escaping the screen somehow ?

What happens when you press the home button?

When I click the home button it just turns on the Siri microphone

Try a hard shut down when you press the home key and the offbutton at the same time.

cashier, I have just done that and managed to switch off ipad. Then I switched on again and Siri just appeared again !

When Siri comes on, try saying “Siri, switch yourself off”.

I told Siri to switch off and the black screen says Siri not available but cannot escape from the screen.

I’m not sure you’ve done a ‘hard’ reset where you press the home key and the offbutton at the same time but for about 10 seconds. The iPad should then reboot and switch itself back on.

Thanks Zacs, I managed to switch off the power completely. I have finally managed to get to settings to get rid of Siri for good ! Many thanks to you both
