i have had internet on my tv for about 2 months now i dont keeps asking me to login
any ideas laptop going ok tia

Have you tried logging back in on the TV?

To the best of my knowledge, no TV set requires a login to access the internet, per se. However logging in is often required to access certain specific services provided over the internet, such as BBC iPlayer. If you're being asked to log in to BBC iPlayer, or similar, all you should need to do is to enter your account details on the screen. (If you've not already got an account for the relevant service, you can create one using your laptop first).

If that doesn't answer your question, please provide further information about which service it that you're being asked to log in to and why you're having problems doing so.

Modern tvs that are able to access the web and internet are wifi ready and will find a hub when in range. They also have an ability to have manufacturer upgrades and system checks. Firstly though you need to enter up the hub details and any other info that it asks for and that you are happy to give. You can probably for instance access Netflix or other streaming facilities once you make the set recognisable online.

ta for brill info wifi is on my isp is talktalk the acount is with them it prompts me to insert my wifi password put it in higer case lower case no luck / now on screen cannot connect now try again

the PW is probably mixed case you have to put it in exactly as it is printed.

There might be an alternative (and simpler) way to make the connection, using 'WPS'. If your TV set supports it, we'll need to know its make and model.

Please tell us the exact make and model. (i.e. not just something like 'Sony' or 'Sony Bravia' but a precise model number, such as 'Sony Bravia XR55X90JU' or whatever the make and model number of your set might be). You'll find it on the back of the set.

Blast! Although quite a few Sony Bravia sets have the facility to connect via WPS, it seems that the KD-50X89J doesn't. So that's that idea out of the window then.

As your laptop is connecting to your router with no problems, use your laptop to check what your router's password is. Here's how to do it:

Click Start.
Click Settings. (It's the cogwheel icon).
Click Network and Internet.
Click WiFi. (It's on the left).
Click Network and Sharing Centre. (It's on the right).
Click the name of your network. (It's alongside 'Connections').
Click Wireless Properties.
Click the Security tab.
Click to place a tick next to 'Show Characters'.
You'll then be able to see, with absolute certainty, what your WiFi password is. That's the password you need to enter when your telly asks you for it, remembering that your password is case sensitive. (e.g. 'hflj2020' is completely different to 'Hflj2020').
