Firefox Bookmarks In A Drop Down List

My computer crashed and i had to reinstall programs. Before this happened my bookmarks in Firefox (windows 10 ) appeared in a drop down list on the top right of screen but now they are in a horizontal list along the top of the screen. How do I get them back to where they were.??

right click on a clear area at the top and tick "menu bar" then just below it on a blank part of the address bar, right click and select "bookmarks toolbar" then "Never show". Now you should have a heading for "bookmarks" on the menu bar and the bookmarks toolbar should be gone.
