Deleting Facebook

We are trying to delete my husbands Facebook account. He has forgotten his password and we are being told they will send a code via his phone - but nothing happens. What else can we do ?

I don't use Facebook but, from looking at various pages found by Google, it should be possible to get a password-reset link sent to the email address that's associated with the account by starting here:
https://en-gb.facebook.com/login/identify/?ctx=recover&ars=royal_blue_bar&from_login_screen=0

^ I think that only works if you use your email address as part of your Facebook log in.
