After my last windows update, the search box at the bottom of my screen now has something on the r/h side, which is related to news. How do I get rid of it please?

Right click on it and it should give you options. You might need to select news first.
right click on the main task bar, select "news and interests" then turn off.

Yes, I can get options, but there is nothing to say turn off news.

Yes, I've selected turn off in nedws and interests, but it is still there.
Only Guessing. Keep your finger on it for a good while

It looks as though the icons can't be removed. The news and interests aren't displayed on the taskbar with the setting turned off.
thats why i have stuck with windows 7
Right click on 'Search' and remove the "tick" from Search Highlights
