I often time go for hiking every month. But usually the timing falls under Dhur/asr/magrib prayer. I usually carry my portable prayer mat. but cannot understand which way is the Qibla. How do I find Qibla direction on such hills as a lot of the time I do not have internet connection? Is there any offline application I can use in such conditions?

How do you find your way-- do you use a compass? If so then that will do for this too

Use a compass, if your walking high up you should have one anyway.
And another advantage of taking a compass will be that you can then draw as many circles as you wish !
Buy a prayer mat with an inbuilt compass, they are very common.
Or use a compass app on your smartphone, choose one that doesn't need to be online to work.
It’s better if you prepare ahead of your next hiking trip. So for example, I always search on google to see which side usually the qibla direction is and carry a compass with me while going on hill. As internet may not work on those hills, its useful to carry compass. So if the qibla is in north east side of your hill, then turn around until you see your position towards north east. here you go, you can find the qibla.
i am sure there are other device or apps available on the market that you can use if you got internet connection.

has he just asked a question and then answered it?
I thought ( here )the qibla was always East
compass simples
oh God ya allahu
and carry a compass with me while going on hill.
he did
But if you are east of it (whatever it is!) it can't be off to the east can it? Or maybe it can if you go right around the world! It's a conundrum.
If you were in South Africa you'd want to be looking slightly East of North. In Pakistan you'd be pointing West.
A compass is your friend here.
PP, the OP might not be in the UK but even if he or she were, the direction would be south-east, not east.
Can you post a picture of your portable prayer mat? Are any prayer mats not portable?

Yes, I noticed that, Bobb. It's some kind of conspiracy...Be very careful!:)
Silly me.
I thought a Quibla was someone who constantly argued.
