This has happened before but anyway have my passwords typed up blah blah but I need to print them off now to update etc and when I click onto them it is saying
Abiword cannot open
c:/users/jinny/desktop/passwords.abw appears to be an an invalid document
I do not want to have to type all these up again.
Can I change them to something to get them printed without my having to type them all up again.
t is a known issue that AbiWord sometimes makes mistakes during saving files, i.e. when they are completed from pieces from some other formats (a table pasted from doc or xls file, ...). You can investigate the problem by renaming the .abw file into .xml (or better make a copy), then try to open it in Firefox or your favorite web browser.

Jenny, if you go up onto your search bar in your browser, look for Settings - once you click that, there is a section with passwords,. every password you ever created, is stored in there, to open it, you have to put in either your microsoft (outlook ) or google password, whichever one locks your computer
If you previously downloaded and installed LibreOffice then, unless you uninstalled it, LibreOffice Writer will still be on your computer.
Click the Start button on your computer, go to the list of programs and then click on the folder called 'LibreOffice 7.0'. (The number might be different to 7.0 but that doesn't matter). Then click on 'LibreOffice Writer'.
Go to File > Open. Navigate to the location of your passwords file and double click on it. That should open it for you.
I then recommend saving the file in a different format. (i.e. not the Abiword one). To do so, go to File > Save As. Click in the 'Save as type' box, to change the file type to 'Word 2007-365 (*.docx)'. Change the file name to something like 'newpasslist'. Ensure that you're saving the file to a suitable folder (such as 'Documents') and click 'Save'.
ok - thanks chris - took a print out of your post because I do think you advised me last time to try and print passwords re Libre Writer and it worked. thanks again
