Laptop Battery
24 Answers
I have used my laptop for hours on end with it plugged in to the mains, thinking this is the best solution to maintaining power and not having to rely on the battery charge.
Now the laptop is tending to get hot quickly and the battery life is short.
Have I likely ruined the battery by using the laptop with it plugged into the mains?

Hi Maydup I had to replace the battery in my chromeback last year and following the usual great advice from Buenchico bought a new battery from : laptop- battery. org. uk Very reasonably priced and very helpful. Good luck. FBG40

Laptop batteries should be charged to a maximum of 80%. In fact, most modern laptops feature what is known as "Battery Life Extender" mode which allows you to keep it plugged into the mains but not to overcharge it:

I've found this one on Amazon

which I think is the same as this one on the other site for £30 less
