I have several items in the house (e.g. phone, vacuum cleaner, toothbrush.,.) that need charging. Most have a light that goes out when charged. Do they use any further electricity when this happens? If not, is there any reason not to keep them plugged in, e.g. overnight?? And do they use much electricity anyway??
They will still use a very small amount of electricity as the transformers are not 100% efficient. The main reason for not having them on overnight is the risk of fire especially if you use the wrong charger and it has a higher voltage than the correct one.
Thanks all for your answers! Sorry I didnt acknowledge before, had unexpected visitors so havent had time to check my emails.
I will continue to charge items as before, (I know my chargers are the correct ones).
