For 22 years I have been a loyal supporter of SKy TV.
In a pique of rage, I cancelled my subscription and aligned myself with Freeview.
Big mistake.
The equipment is inferior, the picure is poor, particularly GMNews and the method of addition of Netflix and the fact that BT sport is not available on Now TV after advertising that it is, is disgracefull.
Yes Freeview is free and Sky TV is expensive but I regret moving........you certainly get what you pay for.
With the amount of TV I watch - no sport, not interested in GoT or other fantasies, new movies are seldom better than old ones, freeview has enough for me.
I have Freeview on an LG Smart TV (no "equipment") and the picture is excellent. I've never wanted Netflix or BT Sport...so it's perfectly fine for my needs. (I do have Amazon Prime video too)
Yes you get what you pay for. I stay with Sky but I annually phone up to close and they always extend my discount. Err indoors keeps saying we should go Freeview but I'm not keen. You can get a decent TIVO box to ease the pain mind.
I get your drift, Sqad and after all the money they have had out of your bank account I, too, would have expected a much quicker solution. The days of keeping a customer happy are on the way out, apparently. It is a shame because you seem to enjoy your sport and some of the dramas/serials. A self-inflicted rhinotomy is not to be sneezed at. Pardon my humour ;)
