Powerpoint Issue

I have just completed a PP.

I have saved it to my desktop hard drive, and a portable hard drive.

When I tried to open it on both, it shows the title, and slides with dates on, but all the other slides are black with a small red cross on it.

Any ideas please?

Powerpoint does not understand the format of pictures you have imported. What picture type have you actually added to the slides? Can you open the picture outside of powerpoint? If so "save as" - type JPG and try an import again.

That was my first thought too, Jim, but it should only apply if Andy has moved or deleted the relevant content on his hard drive.

(Note though that if the content is on an external drive, it's file path might have changed if that drive has been removed and then re-connected. e.g. a file which was previously located at D\:images might now be at E\:images instead if another external drive has been allocated D as its drive letter).

A little more info - this is a PP I have saved previously, I have added two extra pics and saved it, now the problem.

I can go to a previous copy and re-edit again, not a big deal, just thought I'd try and save some time.

What is the file type of the pics?

Just Google images.

ok but you downloaded them? What's the file type? Look in the download folder.

Google Images is not a stock of photos, it is a search result.

Have you linked direct to an image or have you dowloaded it to the computer.

I would download the image.

Remember always assume copyright exists on any image from the internet

if you right click on the picture then "save image" - it will download it. Then you can import it into powerpoint.

I have used my previous copy and re-edited it, to save me getting all wound up!
