I'd be concerned it wasn't exactly a new TV. Where have you purchased it from? They haven't sent you an ex display model that will have been playing for hours by any chance and forgot to pick up the remote.

Is this any use to you?
Meantime look in all the polystyrene that packed the TV. Quite often the remotes are tucked away in pockets in the polystyrene.

Oh dear how frustrating for you.
Please look again at thepackaging as the remote is often tucked away in a little pocket either in the polystyrene or surrounded by cardboard.
If the TV is new and the box was sealed the remote is likely to be there, hidden somewhere.
I can feel your frustration, though, as the same thing happened to me about a little hand held saw that I bought. When I opened it there was no saw blade. Eventually I found it taped under a flap on the lid. It could so easily have gone to recycling.
