Slow Cooker Times
3 Answers
I'm making some pea soup in my slow cooker to a recipe I've tried before. While preparing the ingredients I pre-heated the cooker on high. When all was ready I transfered the soup to the slow cooker and went out. It's now two and a half hours later and I've just realised I didn't turn the heat down to low as per the recipe which says to cook for 8-10 hours!!
I'm still out and wont be back for at least another hour. So, would it be ok to turn the heat down when I get back or should I just let it cook on high for another hour or so?
Of course I'll check it when I return but I'm just wondering what other slow cooker users think.
