If a tablet is 10.5"...is that diagonally edge to edge, or just the screen?

TVs are diagonal so I guess tablets are done that way too- otherwise theyd need to give width and height?
Diagonally, same as tv
And just the screen, not the frame/border

I understand that it's diagonal...but I don't know if that just means the screen...where images/text appears.
I'm comparing a new Samsung tablet to what I've currently got.

It is (or, at least, it should be) just the diagonal measurement of the screen.

For example, the full corner-to-corner measurement of the Galaxy Tab A 10.5 is 12.0" (assuming, of course, that I can still remember how to correctly invoke the assistance of Mr Pythagoras!):
