my emails last synced on 28th February - when I try to get it to update it says sync not working but will be back soon. Any ideas how to get it to update? I get them ok on laptop. Words of one syllable please as I am not very techi.

Delete the account from your email app and then create it again. (You won't lose any mail).

Well I seem to have deleted my emails from my account but can't find out how to get them back! It now says "No Emails. You may have emails that have not yet been retrieved from the server" - I did manage to 'send' one to myself which is now in the sent box but not in the in box.

Have you tried restarting the phone?

Think you have misunderstood Buenchico. He said to delete the account and reinstall it. Not delete the emails as it would appear that is what you have done. Hopefully they are in your deleted folder and will be able to be restored if you delete the account and reinstall that. Good luck
