Help Needed To Pick New Smartphone

I have a little Alcatel flip phone that doesn't connect to the internet. I want a new smartphone, or new to me anyway.

I like this one - it is a nice colour. But is it any good? What should I be looking for? Is an iPhone better or are the other makes just as good?

I use Motorola's, just ordered a G82.

It's functional rather than jazzy but does everything I need. In addition Motorola dont fill it with bloatware like Samsung et el do.

It really depends on what you want though. If you play heavy cpu games the G82 is not for you.

I'm in the same boat, need to finally ditch the dumbphone. So if anyone has a good suggestion I might just follow up on it. I like the idea of a high spec camera so that's quite important for me but won't be spending ages on line.

Colour doesn't matter to me because I always put a good case on my phone - I am very clumsy

I don't play games on my phone. I am getting rid of my landline and want a half-decent phone to use as a main phone and for when I am out and about.

I currently use Tesco mobile but I may move if other services have better signals.

Not too small a screen. I don't want to pay loads of money because I don't 'need' a new phone. Maybe £75-£100.

My current phone doesn't go onto the internet and typing out texts on the keyboard (a real one) takes me forever.

Either of the ones you linked to would be ok. They're much of a muchness at that level and age. There's no real difference between an iPhone and an android either.

Wolf, I think the phone in your OP is too old. A lot has happened in 6 years and it certainly won’t be getting updates. I would be concerned about battery life, too

For wolf...I have this (bought new), and I'm still happy with it. I use for lists, checking emails, the net when out, WhatsApp, etc. Maybe an occasional video.

You can get a brand new Moto G22 for less than £110 at Curry's.

It's a budget phone, but very capable. Far better than an old second hand phone.

Thanks to everyone. My brother thinks that he will see if his old moto phone can be brought back to life.

He read this thread and agreed with recommendations. He also told me that a pink phone will work the same as a black one.

There are just so many to choose from and I didn't want to make a costly mistake.
