which I didn't want to interrupt, I have AVG Internet Security (Multi-Device) installed.
The subscription renews April 30th. It is very intrusive and regularly tries to scare me into buying yet another download.
Should I just get rid?

I think it may have been between the old Lenova laptop saga and you purchasing a replacement. I would not let any of the "security" extensions near my machines. Norton, Macafee, Avg, and especially the Russian or Chinese owned ones are all laptop killers. Liken them to the methods that you local authority like to boast are traffic calming measures, whilst in reality they are specifically there to enrage the travelling public and deter them from using the roads. :))
