How do I increase the RAM on my computer?

My computer runs a bit slow and I want to speed it up. It currently has 256mb RAM. Is it easy to increase the RAM?

..mm...Easy?...yes it is simply a matter of removing the cover from your pc and plugging in more memory modules (ram)....that physical action is so simple, that any one could do it...BUT from you question alone I infer that you know absolutely nothing about computers and might have some difficulty identifying a few things, such as how much more ram your mother board will take...what kind of ram (there are different types).......and a few other important bits of knowledge you will need like where to plug it...........In your case I would either contact a knowledgeable friend or pop down to your local PC specialist and get them to do it for you................It will certainly make a big difference to your computer, and well worth the effort.....commoner.

also, what is the processor speed, and what operating system do you use?

it might not be the RAM that is really slowing your computer down, you might just have a slow processor.
