Watch DVD's on Ipod video

How do I go about turning a dvd into a file type that can be viewed on my ipod video? I suppose I need the dvd equivalent of itunes to rip it . Any help appreciated.

you need to convert your media (film or clip ) to mp4 you can get a converter for this on download.com.I'm sure i saw one just for i-pods you may have to pay for it but you get nothing for nothing these days

Well, you just need a dvd to iPod converter to rip dvd to iPod supported format. I'd recommend you SnowFox DVD to iPod for Mac.
