New Lg55Ur81006 Tv = Help With Set Up Please!

TV was set up by supplier and works well but........I am elderly and do not quite understand how to alter some things. There was no printed manual with the TV but I have download what I think is the correct one but too long to print out! I have looked for my problems but cannot find how to sort them.

1. The sound is set to Standard but there is a too much base. Went into settings but can not see how to reduce base as there are different sound options but that is all.
2. I understand from manual that there is blue tooth on this tv and I want to use wireless headphones but cannot set them up!
3. When I switch the tv off at nightit still shows a red standby? light. On my old tv this was not on every time I switched it off. I this a problem - not worried about power used as long as it is safe to leave on standby.

Appreciate your help for this new TV. Is there anywhere I can buy a hard copy of instructions?

1. Does the volume options include Clear Voice, Speech or similar? That will reduce the bass

3. Yes, it is safe to leave on standby

Nice to speak to you again. Have just checked what you said and there is indeed clear speech and I have set the tv to that and it is much better!
OK understand - will leave standby on.

I think I have found the manual (I'm sure I have) and it is the poorest manual I have ever seen, shockingly bad and unhelpful.

I did however find this elsewhere online:
Place the Bluetooth device into pairing mode. Refer to the device's instruction manual if needed. In the TV menu, go to SETTINGS > ALL SETTINGS > SOUND OUT > USE WIRELESS SPEAKER. Then select your device's name from the list of available devices. After the device has been successfully paired, it will show under the registered devices.

I hope that helps. I'm glad you've sorted the sound quality out - I've been using Clear Speech and it really does help. If you also have the option to 'equalise volume' or similar, try that too. It keeps the volume at an even keel so you don't get deafened by adverts or strain to hear when people are whispering.

Thanks for your help Barry1010 - all ok with sound now and I have got the Blue Tooth working! May I ask one more question?

I only use the TV as a 'monitor' although it is of course it was set up for me for all programs on live tv.

On my old Sony, when I switched the tv on, automatically came on as my PVR and I used that remote all the time only using the TV remote for on/off. If I wanted to use the live tv I had to scroll up from hdmi 2 to 'Digital' There were only 2 ports on that tv.

With this LG when it was set up for me it is different eg when I switch on the TV it defaults to the little LG app icon at bottom left of screen where all others like i player etc are. Above that is a blue rectangle which says 'set top box' or something and each time I switch on the tv I have to scroll up one from LG app on to that and press enter on the tv remote and the Humax starts.
It is not a major problem - is it because the hdmi lead from the Humax is in the wrong hdmi port on the tv?

I don't think it is anything to do with the hdmi port, it seems your new tv reverts to 'home' each time is switched on instead of where it was left.
I use my tv as a monitor only and when I switch it on it starts on digital tv until I switch my PVR when it automatically switches to that.
I really don't know what to suggest.
What happens when you open 'manage home' in the settings?

I meant to say also that my Humax is left on all the time - so I do not have to switch it on each time I press the TV remote
When you say open 'mamage home' in setting do you mean settings on the LG TV?

When you open settings using your remote you should be able to 'manage home'. I have no idea what your options may be but there may be to turn on straight to hdmi

Using the tv remote open settings on your TV. You should be able to navigate to manage home....

I always feel better switching the power off at the wall socket on my LG TV before bed...nothing to do with energy-saving - it just feels "better" to me!
