I am trying to send a short film saved on my hard drive to a friend. For some reason the file just won't go. Tried sending it through WinZip but still no go. Can anyone help ?

Depending on the size ,I would guess its too large for an attachment - certain e-mail programmes limit incoming/outgoing attachments.
You could try a file sending site like http://www.yousendit.com/

Thks, I'll give it a go.

Also, MPEG is its a compression technology so probably not much use trying to compress again using WIN ZIP etc (dont think it would shrink anymore...and likely might get bigger!!).

You could also try some FTP (files transfer protocol) sites too as they offer easy connection to connection swapping

I'd either upload it to somewhere like "yousendit" or "putfile.com" or if the file is less than 10mb and you want it to be visible only to one person, get yourself (I suppose, AND the other person) a gmail email address.
This way - a copy of the mpeg will always be stored on gmail's servers and you don't need to worry about backing it up to DVD/CD. My PC and house could explode and I'd still have lots of images and videos saved by gmail to be retrieved later on a completely new PC

All of this gmail tomfoolery is available
