Is it true that you MUST have broadband for Google Earth to work, or will it work ok on a XP Machine with a dial up modem??

You can use it with dial up, but it would be so slow as to be pointless. You would be waiting a long time for it to display anything.

if they are pictures, why would they take so long to load?
How many pictures do you think it takes to represent the earth? At varying heights? A lot! That's why it takes so long.

Sorry, trying to give up smoking!

giving that up 3 yrs ago was the best thing I ever did. All the best!

I've spent ages on Google Earth - it's so fascinating.

We're on Broadband & that takes long enough - can't imagine the time it would take using dial up!

S'funny - I have a dial-up connection with Tiscali and I can get from outer space to flying over RAF Marham at 1,000 feet in under a minute on Google Earth. Problem I have is I can't print what's on the screen. Security or a dodgy Epson printer?
