Apart from doorknobs, I can't remember the last time I twiddled a knob.
Not like the old days, fiddling the vertical and horizontal knobs on the TV, searching for radio stations.
None of my electrical appliances have knobs, nor my gas fire.
There are a few knobs in my car but I don't touch them.
Has the simple knob become obsolete?

Plus I've found that if you have two hobs on, and you want one on full power to bring to the boil quick, it interfers with the setting on the other one, or others that may be in us. Sometimes it looks like Nasa controll room. :0)

I have read recently that drivers want their straightforward knobs back instead of the 'infoscreens' that have replaced them. I don't have this screen in my car but can imagine that could be fiddly and distracting to have to touch a screen to turn the aircon on or the rear window heater.
