When Was The Last Time You Twiddled A Knob?

Apart from doorknobs, I can't remember the last time I twiddled a knob.

Not like the old days, fiddling the vertical and horizontal knobs on the TV, searching for radio stations.

None of my electrical appliances have knobs, nor my gas fire.

There are a few knobs in my car but I don't touch them.

Has the simple knob become obsolete?

Knob gags, fnaaar.

Twiddled a few this morning, Barry, on my amp as i had a half hour on my new purchase - an electro-acoustic guitar. Of course i just had to try it out😊.

I wish I were musical, I envy you

The 2 knobs on the boiler. Water knob, heating knob. Thats the only to knobs I'm interested in fiddling with at the moment. :0)

Often twiddle the tone and volume knobs on my Precision, also my amp and hi-fi amp.  Glad to say my car has knobs for heating and radio.

i had a good fiddle with knobs yesterday on my record player x

I say bring back knobs. We have a knob-less hob/oven and its a pain in the buttocks.

I wouldn't say i'm 'musical', still very much a novice.

washing machine ,dryer, microwave ,oven. All fairly modern.

nicebloke, my hob and oven are knobless and the only annoyance is that a splash of water on the control will turn everything off.

Yes barry your correct, and if you have a damp finger you cant alter the setting. Plus I've found that if you have two hobs on, and you want one on full power to bring to the boil quick, it interfers with the setting on the other one, or others that may be in us. Sometimes it looks like Nasa controll room. :0)

That's a really personal question there Barry and my answer would be, mind your own business.

I will admit to it being a long time ago.😂

Barsel, there had to be one - and it was you 😂

I have read recently that drivers want their straightforward knobs back instead of the 'infoscreens' that have replaced them.  I don't have this screen in my car but can imagine that could be fiddly and distracting to have to touch a screen to turn the aircon on or the rear window heater.

Funny how you don't notice these changes until brought to your attention.  Racked my brains but couldn't think of any recent examples. Amazing when only 50 years ago quite common practice.

Bring back knobs 😀    😀    😀    😀    😀    😀    😀

Today, an old CD/Tape deck player I use to amplify music from PC, a BIG nob on the front for volume, easier to twiddle than using the remote.

This one exactly:

Barry, I haven't heard of the info screen, but they do sound a bit fiddly.

Sorry for being rude, I'm glad you didn't say it was bound to be me.😁

I'll try again so you get the idea if not no matter:

Some might say well, there are a few on AB!

Okay, gonna get my coat now.😀

Yesterday evening, as I do most evenings.

This is because our electricity routinely goes off between 5 and 7 and this means I have to reset the cooker clock.
