Car Rental Chile.
I initially put this in motoring but think more travel related!
Anyone have any experience of car rental in Chile. Need a medium size, automatic car with A/C and English speaking satnav. Thinking of driving in Lake District and renting from Puerto Montt, Puerto Varas or possibly Castro on Chiloe island.
Looked on line but can't find exactly what I need.
If anyone has been and rented there , I would like to know some information. Many thanks

They are a hire car consolidator who get prices from various car hire companies.
In the link below, you can hire an SUV out of Puerto Montt in January next year for a week, at £33/day.
With regards the satnav, I’d be tempted to buy a unit in the UK – you can buy them fairly cheaply from ebay (with world maps pre-loaded), you can then input your route(s) before you go.
Don’t forget to buy a hire car damage-waver insurance policy before you go – it will be much cheaper than the hire company’s insurance.

Most satnavs are supplied with a connection to the cigarette lighter socket, which then supplies the 5Vdc to the satnav; but these days many vehicles are fitted with a standard USB socket to directly supply the 5Vdc.
This ebay unit claims to cover Chile, and comes with both cigar lighter and USB lead.
