right i uninstalled it and downloaded again. Everything goes through ok right to the end where it says sign in then it says we were not able to sign you in.I already have a yahoo id. any further ideas why thanks
Well they should run together fine... I can only suggest you start all over again with a new identity on yahoo messenger and see if that works. Are you sure you are using the correct password ???
Alternatively why not try Trillian (http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/) which allows you to use Yahoo Messenger and MSN Messenger at the same time.

i have tried signing in with new id that still does not work yes using correct password thanks.
have you activated your yahoo id, check your spam/junk mail for an email
Question Author

Question Author
thanks for reply i dont think that would be the problem as i already have a yahoo id for emails
I think what goodsoulette was meaning is to check and see if you can get into the e mail that comes with the identity you cannot get into, to see if you can get into that as that would show that the id is in fact operational.

Hi wendilla, I've copied this from the Yahoo help section...........

Why doesn't my password work?
There are several reasons you may be getting the "Invalid Password" error message:

Set your CAPS LOCK key correctly. Passwords are case sensitive, (meaning that "PASSWORD," "PaSsWoRd," and "password" are not equivalent), so be sure to keep this in mind when entering your password.

Do not add the "@yahoo.co.uk" to your ID when signing in.

Wait up to 24 hours. If you recently requested a new password, this will allow your account to update.

Delete your cookie files. A cookie is a small piece of information stored by your browser that helps identify you. If your cookie is not being accepted correctly, you will be logged out of your account as soon as you move to a different page. This may be blocking your current ability to log in or stay logged in.
To delete your cookies, close all browser windows, find the "cookies" directory, and delete the cookie files inside. As always, make sure that you have selected the proper files before deleting.

Clear your browser's cache. At times it's necessary to clear your browser's cache. The cache is the memory your browser uses to store content of the web pages that you visit. Storing that content lets your browser load those same pages more quickly the next time you visit them.
If you're still having problems, please request a new password. Once you receive your new password, you can change it.

Hope this is of some help
