java error

some sites tell me that java is corrupted or misinstalled. Do I just need to install the newest version of my browser? I tried that and it didn't work. I didn't uninstall the previous one, however. Any advice?

You'll have to register, but that's no big deal. It's best to turn off all your running programs (in the right-hand corner by the clock) and they diagnose your computer, give a rating and suggest updates and remedies. Most of the problems they can correct for you as well, or give instructions for you to do it. It's very easy and straightforward. It may not work with your java, but then again . . .
