Well i think its called something like that. Out for a walk yesterday we spotted a small yellow flower we couldnt recall the name of, using the camera on google search box on my phone it correctly identified the flower as a Cowslip. what amazes me is the sheer speed of google, I reckon the answer came up in hunderdths of a second, just how can it be so quick?

Arthur C. Clarke's third law:Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable form magic.

It's amazing I agree, it's just the speed of the internet. I had similar this week when in my office at work in Dorset I got an email from a work friend with a photo he'd literally just taken of himself standing on an amazing bridge in the middle of deep countryside about 50 miles outside of Seoul where he's currently holidaying. He attached it and sent it in less than a minute.

To balance the amazement though this is the same office where due to signal I cannot recieve even a text on my vodafone personal mobile and only have 1 bar on my work O2 one...

The Internet and modernity in general gets a lot of criticism but the technology is wonderful.  It has made an enormous difference to many people with lots of different disabilities and is a fantastic educational tool.

Sadly it also has very frightening downsides, too.

Arthur C. Clarke's third law:

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable form magic.

It's quick because it has a lot of computing power, which requires a lot of energy.

Can someone explain to me how that works please?

I have a photo of a celebrity on my computer whose face is very familiar, but I've never been able to find out who it is.

Sorry to veer a little here.

Barsel - open Google's home page & drag & drop the picture into the search box area.

Have just tried that L-I-K but the images were too dark to make out what they were.

Is it always too dark to see? Another way that often works is to right click on the photo itself and select 'search image with google'.

Just tried that Prudie and it came up with nothing.

Fine by me

You've got us all intrigued now barsel - you must publish here 😊

crossed post

I remember it was from a concert in New York, but it was a long time ago and I can't remember who the concert was for.

In the back of my mind, I'm thinking The Rat Pack, but I don't know why I think that.

I thought I saw a hint of Robert Wagner, but on cruising google I'm not so sure.

Was he in the Sopranos?
That is not a spoof question. 😂

He's got an Italian American look about him.
