When I print directly from web pages, the right side of the page is always missing from the printout, no matter whether I am using my home pc or the pc at work. Is there a way of avoiding this?

Have you tried changing your paper setup from portrait to landscape? It works for me.
The answer to this is because web pages are printed out (or at least here they are :-) at 72dpi. When you take the width of an A4 page including margins, this equates to a (roughly) 640 pixel wide screen. I reduce the browser window to fit into 640 pixels: it wraps the text properly, and then when printed, it appears fine. This is why some sites, such as Internet banking, have a 'printable version', which looks the same, but restricts the page to 640 pixels using a table.
