So Lets Shaft Our Farmers.....

I keep getting these - from friends passing them on - always with a jokey message like "ooh don't want to risk this one LOL" -
how come some people don't understand that these are actually quite sinister - promising you bad luck for life, death etc etc
aside from anything they are just irritating and pointless.
i ignore them but its very annoying and there is always that slight vague feeling in the back of your mind that - what if? wheres the harm in passing it on? i just copied all the names of the people onj the forward list and sent it back to them.

Also, I use MailWasher so I can actually take a quick look at anything I'm not sure of before it even gets near my computer (the program 'looks' at it on the server and then relays what is in effect an image, so there's no danger of downloading crap you don't want).
If you want to try it, go here: http://www.mailwasher.net/
no, these come from my friends email addresses and she had written some 'sorry but..' comment and then there is a list of others it has been forwarded to and sent from and their responses and something like and good, nice message then "send this to 15 people or else" there is no advertising or anything
i think they are (one girl in particular) receiving them same as me and passing them on to everyone in their address books through fear.
do you really think she may not know? thats really spooky. perhaps i'll email and ask her not to send me anymore
I personally don't worry about them, though i confess to having a vague stab of 'just in case' when i get one, though i never forward them.
It just occurred to me that what if i was the type to get upset by this sort of thing, some people are.
and what if that person didn't forward it within 15 minutes and wound themselves up and got very upset about it?
I just think its wrong to send these to people when you don't know how they will take it - i think my pal knows this won't affect me like that - but does she really? i knew her for 3 years at uni, but we weren't especially close, though we have kept in touch for the last 4 years with emails, but still there are always sides to someone that you don't know.
Hi zeb - i did that! - i took the names of all the people on the rather long list who had forwarded it on and sent them it 3 times each, with a message saying 'enjoy'
I didn't want to hit reply as it would go to all the other 'innocents' LOL
can i suggest to anyone who gets one of these, who is too scared to ignore it - go onto a website of, say, nazi supporters, or the kkk and use any email addresses you can find on their message boards or whatever.
this reply is a bit late, but what can i say-it's Friday afternoon and not quite hometime!
these things really annoy me, but my 'friends' have got the hint now thanks to a few tips I picked up at
and if your friends ever wanted to know if there was any truth in the 'HIV infected needles in coin return slots' or 'deoderant gives you cancer and makes your arms fall off' theories...there isn't
