Are printers dangerous?

I've heard it is dangerous to sit next to/work in the same room as loads of printers coz they omit VOCs, etc. from the toners. Is this true?

Years ago, printers did emit harmful vapours, but unless the printer is industrial size, and over twenty years old, you needn't worry - modern technology means that these problems have ben eradicated.

there are h&s guidelines for printers, probably best not to be too close to a ton of em !
