(i.e. there are no muscles involved). That, presumably, involves an increase in one's blood pressure.
My guess is that health professionals have decided that there's too great a risk in giving a man over 75 something that will increase his blood pressure, as it's likely to be quite high to start with.
Interestingly, the British National Formulary website doesn't show any prohibitions or warnings about the use of Viagra in men over 75:

It's all part of the general trend to stop older folk from enjoyng themselves: you must have noticed other examples if you're aged - bottles/cans/jars you can't open, text too small to read, roads too busy to cross devoid of crossing places, lifts always out of order (a favourite of railway stations where you are unable to change platforms as a result), dearth of public toilets, retail/serving staff who can't articulate loudly enough, delivery couriers who won't give you time to answer the door, A-board obstructions, insufficient public seating, etc. I'm sure our contributors can think of more examples of how impossible life is for us less-than-agile and easily-tired Oldies.
Why Is There An Upper Age Limit, Currently 75, On The...
The upper age limit for sildenafil, often cited as 75 years. It is not a strict rule but rather a guideline reflecting concerns about the safety & effectiveness of the medication in older adults.
Health Considerations for Older Adults:
Age-Related Health Issues: As men age, they are more likely to experience health conditions such as heart disease, hypertension, and decreased liver & kidney function. These factors can complicate the use of sildenafil, as they may increase the risk of adverse effects or drug interactions
Dosage Adjustments: For older adults, especially those over 65, healthcare providers often recommend starting with a lower dosage of sildenafil (typically 25 mg) due to slower drug clearance from the body. This adjustment helps mitigate potential side effects associated with higher doses
Medical Evaluation: A thorough medical evaluation is crucial before prescribing sildenafil to older patients. This includes assessing their overall health, current medications, & any underlying conditions that could affect treatment safety
Risk of Self-Medication: Self-medication poses significant risks for older adults who may be taking multiple medications. Unsupervised use of sildenafil can lead to dangerous interactions or mask symptoms of more serious health issues.
Efficacy in Older Adults
Research indicates that sildenafil is effective and well-tolerated in elderly men, even those over 70 years old. Studies have shown improvements in erectile function among older users comparable to younger populations when used appropriately under medical supervision.
The point is, while there may be an informal upper age limit for sildenafil usage, it is essential that any decision regarding its use in older adults be made collaboratively between the patient & their healthcare provider, considering individual health circumstances rather than a blanket age restriction.
And if your doctor has prescribed any ED or PE medicine, make sure to purchase it from a reliable source.
Note: There are fewer studies about the safety and effectiveness of children below 18 years of age. Hence it is not recommended to be used in children. www.krristaforce.com
