When I switch the printer on iy whirrs as if getting ready to print and then the paper stuck light comes on and nothing happens.

No paper stuck as far as I can see

Please advise as to what I should do now

Google doesn't seem to have heard of that model! (XP-215, perhaps?).

Sometime a very small piece of paper can get stuck inside a printer. So start off by looking for it, as in this video:

You are right it is Epson XP215 and the video is it but it is still not workingas have tried--giving iyt a rewst and will have another go late
