is it actually possible to just buy a 30gb ipod with NO VIDEO? i dont want the photo or video thing, but is that just all you can get these days?

I think when ipods still had the black and white style screens the large storage options were only 20gb and 40gb.


I think these have been discontinued now. They were replaced by clour screen model which could show photos and album art, and further by ones which could show photos, album art and video both in 30GB and 60GB.


I'm sure you could still get a black and white screen version somewhere if you have a good look/phone around, but it will probably just be either a 20GB or 40GB model.

quite correct pat - if you really dont want the photo/colour screen then a 20 or 40 gi should be easy enough to find on ebay
Just because it can play video does not mean that you have to use it for that - just buy it and ignore the features you dont want to use.
Well said khana, but maybe the issue is price - ie. paying for features that you're not going to use?
PS. Why an iPod, surely there are lots of other makes offering what you want? Perhaps if you state a price point, Swizz, other makes/models could be suggested (I've recently purchased a Samsung 20GB that has 'everything' at a 'reasonable' price).
