Why were ipod minis discontinued and is there anywhere I can still get one from? (Preferably a real shop- not online but if it is it must be reliable, have good reviews, and not be like ebay or amazon).

Not sure where you can get them from anymore, but they were discontinued because the iPod Nano came out.

Surely the minis will be brought back out considering the big problems the nanos were causing??

They weren't causing big problems.

They had a batch whose screens cracked too easily.

And they scratch more easily, but that is going to happen due to the material it is made from; the mini is more scratch-resistant, but its also a good deal chunkier.
