When I was working I'd sometimes have a bacon one with HP sauce , but not since.
Bacon sandwich weds morning.
Some 40 plus years ago I used to deliver meat to a local factory, main canteen first, then other half a mile away, lastly to the last drop where the directors and managers are, here Rita would make me a sandwich from last week's left overs, sometimes sausage, sometimes bacon or last of all a fried egg, this as thank you for bringing her some bread from the first drop.
I often have a bacon sandwich for breakfast, sometimes with an egg, sometimes a sausage or sausage and egg. A tomato could also feature in any of those things. The sauce must always be brown.
I will also happily have a sandwich for lunch although it won't be like any of the above.
The Badenoch comment to which you're referring, about sandwiches not being real food is moronic.
sandy - once upon a time a friend made my mother toasted corned beef sandwiches in her house and my mother remarked on them and said they were beautiful and there was a nice spiceness to them - unbeknownst to mum - friend had put a little spot of HP sauce in them and boy were they beautiful.
another tip for you Sandy - My mum and I were not HP people oh I mean HP sauce people but now I would use it now and again. Give it a go.
