Mobile Phone In-Car Mystery!
Asking this on behalf of a friend: their phone (on Android/EE) syncs fine with the radio system in their vehicle - a van it. Last night they were 5 miles from home in their van and his wife phoned him. The radio paused as it should and the ring tone came over the loud speaker but he was unable to answer it because the answer button icon on the dash didn't appear on the screen as it normally would.
However here's the mystery - his phone is still at home! Therefore, how can a call still come through and ring in his van?
Just for info and probably not relevant - when his wife rang him, she was in a street about a mile way.

If it goes to the vehicle and not the mobile phone then that implies the SIM card connected to the network, and telling it where to send incoming calls, has to be in the van. So; no explanation of the described experiences.
Or maybe the Chinese radio fitted in the van has hijacked the channel 😲
It could be that when you pair a phone with the car it downloads the contact list and i presume that it is the vehicle that receives the call not the phone , so it would show an incoming calll but as the phone isnt there it doesnt show the green red buttons to accept or cancel the call? just a guess not sure
