A meeting, wow.

A meeting, ex Civil Servants, showing they're rattled.

perhaps they are discussing the merits of a suicide pact.

Yes a meeting NICEBLOKE

\\They will be discussing how to revive the economy after the Bank of England halved the country's growth forecast for this year.//

Boris never turned up for meetings, of any kind.

Why are our lords & masters being driven about in German cars? Jaaags not good enough?

10.51 - why do you lie like that? What's the point? What do you get out of it?

Just seems weird to me why you would blatantly lie like that.

"Pm Holding Extended Cabinet Meeting".  Bet that is absolutely riveting.  Hope Rachel from Accounts doesnt fall off her charging pod.

Boris missed 5 cobra meeting on the run 2020, for no reason at all, other than couldnt be bothered. His lap dog Gove confirmed so.

A pool of fools, paddling uncomfortably out of their depth.

So nicebloke Boris missed some cobra meetings that many PMs didn't attend and you turn it into "Boris never turned up for meetings, of any kind." which as you have been told is a lie.

"Rachael from complaints" is a graduate from Oxford.

Nicebloke has conveniently shifted the conversation away from the inconvenient truth of the OP.

johnson did in fact fail to attend cobra meetings during an emergent crisis. we also learned that cocaine was found in a bathroom very close indeed to his office, fancy that.

the truth of the OP is that you can't cut your way to growth. we suffer from having a very weak state because virtually all public services save for pensions and hospitals has been cut to the bone and so the state can't get actually get anything done because its means of doing so are severely underfunded.

starmer and reeves show no signs of actually understanding this problem and are talking about making more cuts very much like david cameron and george osborne used to.

britain needs a strong and effective state in order to develop. until somebody grasps that problem we are just going to keep banging our heads against that wall.

Information not to be sniffed at.

"virtually all public services save for pensions and hospitals has been cut to the bone" - we are still paying £140bn to work shy scum. We are still paying foriegners for "climate change initiatives" etc etc

where did you get that £140 billion from?

sorry that was an old figure, it's now £268bn, just google:

"how much does UK pay out in benefits"

that's 5 times the defence budget!
