Putin will be thinking it's all going very well.  Here might have had suspicions before that Trump was playing a clever game and that at best he'd kept the land he'd taken over but no more and America would have important mineral rights. Now he's thinking Ukraine will soon all be his and he needn't visit Trump.

trump's mineral plan isn't a guarantee of ukranian security. it is a plan to carve up ukraine with russia.

europe can be all behind ukraine, but all the leaders fall like a pack of cards when push comes to shove, it was america that ended the war in bosnia, eu leaders were all looking around for who has the muscle, no collective idea amongst themselves or the muscle, probably afraid of russia, and again here we are.

Everyone on here blaming Trump for one thing or another,but we are losing sight of the fact that it was Putin,and no-one else,who started this war.Its a bit like saying Poland or France started WW2 and blaming Chamberlain for the whole thing.

He's quite happy for Vlad to have the other half.

That's because there is no 'deal' Naomi.

I believe it was a case of allow us to mine and keep your minerals and we'll call it quits on what you owe us for the military aid we've supplied thus far.

Also, there'll be no further aid, no security guarantees, no chance of joining NATO, and Russia must keep all territory it currently holds.

Terms that he could never agree to. They got him there on a fool's errand simply to hijack and berate him live tv.

Trump and Vance looked like a couple of jerks while he maintained his dignity. Putin must be laughing his ass off.

The war will rumble on until Putin wins or gives up depending on what Europe does. If he wins he'll proceed to the next target.

The current US govt could not care less about Ukraine or any other country. They have no commitment to democracy, and are entirely amoral like their leader.

I'd predict they'll actually start sending military aid to Russia, but I'd be accused of being hysterical.
