Now rife with bombastic, and opinionated keyboard warriors. Negative and aggressive, insulting and downright offensive.

This was once a pleasant and helpful site, now it's a verbal moan fest.

Some spark will opine I don't look. Usual suspects, no doubt.

Good here, innit?

Gulliver do you ever look at old threads, from say 10 years ago? Masses more members, emotional support by the bucket load but also political spats daily but between mainly intelligent prople, CB so busy there would be seconds between latest posts and 30+ threads a day in that category alone. People so cleverly funny it was a joy to read sometimes. Members we...

For I, read , then. Auto corrected....wrongly.

Yes, it's great - used to be a bore-fest😀

Are you in the kitchen?

I think this thread proves AB is going down the pan. Once upon a time we would have been on page 4 by now.

I don't think there are enough of us to be "rife".

it's quality now - not quantity!🤣

3Ts pedantic as usual.

This is your second post of the year, David.  Perhaps post more questions to stimulate serious debate or start a 'fun' thread; or simply ask for advice and opinions.

To get to a page 4 you need some serious stuff like posts saying 'but my friend hasn't responded to my WhatsApp '

Barry, dave has joined Ed in lots of threads. Once poster on here berates me for not starting my own threads but there's no obligation to ask questions.

'Joined in' not join Ed!

barry1010. Third question, but many more answers so far this year.

I'm sorry to say david, you are correct, AB isn't a patch on what it once was.  Many of the best types have tired of the narrative and have bolted.

Too many repetitive 'questions' are being posted purely for argument not for real discussion.

nostalgia aint what it used to be - the world is going to hell in a hand cart.

Newmodarmy, no obligation to start threads, you are right, but there would be no AB if nobody started threads.

:0) ^ spot on

Aye, anyway, what's for dinner?

If the sun carries on shinning I may go and catch a fish for din din. :0)))

Good morning, David. I understand your point of view but, personally, I have had great support from many here over quite some time. As someone with few social contacts and outings that has meant a lot to me.
My analogy of AB is to liken it to shopping. Gone are the days when one could pop into a specialist, privately run shop in the local High St - now one has to travel to a hypermarket and hunt for ages for specific items. Many aisles are no longer of interest and ages can be spent in pursuit of the well hidden. But once one finds the blessed product such relief ensues. Just remember a visit does not demand one makes a purchase - try it and see 😉

That post from Choux deserves sa best answer. Beautifully put.
