My mom takes care of an autistic man every weekend. She was just freaking out. I don't remember exactly what she said but it was something like her being clocked in when she takes him home, when she's not supposed to. She was freaking out and saying that she commited fruad, and that she has to call the company that's employing her and tell them what happened. She said that she'll have to make soemthing up, and act oblivious. I asked her if she knowingly commited fraud, and she said no. I feel like if someone is doing something illegal then it my obligation to report them, but I really dont want to do that to my own mother, because she could go to prison for a long time.

No !!

Can you not make out a pro forma report form so you only need to enter the essential details each time you need to make a report?

Maybe the authorities could arrange to check with you on a weekly or monthly basis to get your latest snitches.

The only problem I could see with that approach, davebro, is the temptation to report every wrinkle and bump in the road to authorities.

This could easily end up with a person being institutionalised and having no access to the internet, some say a bonus for us all.

Alternatively the programme currently running could just be shut down.

It's not your problem.  Mind your own business.

I don't think you are a real person. If you are, then you should learn to keep your nose out of other people's affairs. You're not obliged to report everything you are uncomfortable about.

do you ever think of anything but grassing someone up?

Snitches get stiches.

It is time for you to get a grip on reality. Why do you feel the need to report people for completly trivial, nonsensical and ill perceived misdeeds, especially your own family. If you spend all your life looking for faults in others you are going to become the most miserable person. Please seek help
