Is there a way of connecting my computer monitor to my digibox to get the picture without the need for a TV or a computer?

I only ask because the TV sound has gone funny and the monitor is unused at the moment, as are my spare speakers so i don't feel a new TV is justified if this set up is possible.

Thanks if you can help!

No you cannot use a digibox with a comuter monitor. The only way you can recieve tv pictures on a computer monitor is to install a tv tuner card into the computer.
Kerplunk is correct in saying that modern computer monitors are not suitable for accepting the output from a digibox.

If you happen to spot one of the old-fashioned monitors (the sort with AV plugs for the input) going cheap (i.e. for a few quid) in a second-hand shop, then buy it. I've not got a proper TV; I just connect my digibox to an old Commodore monitor using a Scart-to-AV lead 1.97 from Tesco Extra. (The picture quality is excellent).

If you're not lucky enough to be able to get hold a cheap old-fashioned monitor, you can buy a 14" portable TV, with a Scart socket for the digibox, for just under 50 at either Tesco Extra (+ some larger Tesco branches) or Asda.

Just another thought: If you've got an amplifier, or a stereo system with an 'Aux' input, you could use the Audio Out sockets on the digibox to connect to the amplifier for the sound output. Keep the digibox connected to the TV by the Scart lead as usual and just turn the sound down. The AV leads are about 2 at Asda or Tesco. (My digibox is also connected to a 30-year-old stereo system by just such a means. I use this when I want to listen to digital radio through the Freeview box).

Not totally correct - I use on of these, which for 20 gives me a TV tuner and a video input on a PC monitor without the use of a computer.
