..mm....I don't think you have to or even can, finalize +RW discs........commoner.

You can, and have to if they are to be played in some dvd players. It stops you adding any more to a disk in that session, but it doesn't stop you erasing it.

after more delving in this subject, I am reliably told by my son and another sauce that you can re-use them, you just format them.
