I just recently installed windows xp 64 professional on a new computer. when i try to play a dvd on windows media player i get no audio, but all other windows media player audio works. what may be the cause of that ? I am quite sure i have all file types checked in options menu. this is windows media player 10. thanks in advance.

Sounds like you need the latest codecs for WMP. click on the 'Help' and select check for updates.


If this doesnt work, try using a different media player.

Its a new install and everything is up to date, I have two computers, one is xp and the new one has xp 64 edition. The player works perfect on the xp machine but will not work on the 64. They are both the same version of wmp ( version 10 ) except one is 64 bit. The only problem is dvd playback gives no audio. everything else works.
