In Spain with a lap top

Hi there, am in Spain at present and have brought my laptop and webcam. Have connected to Telefonica dial up. When connected to family in uk without webcam, sound fine. When webcam connected, sound quality very poor, and picture very much delayed and jerky. My assumption is, that the dial up connection cannot cope. Is is the case? Thanks, Julia.

When you speak to them what method do you use. Try using msn for voice and yahoo for webcam separately if you are not already doing that. It may just be that the speed is too slow .. do you know what speed the connection is ????

this happens to me when i talk to my brother whos traveling around austraila so because i know what he looks like we just have voice conversations and i can get on with what i was doing.
