bt wireless connection

I use bt internet but want to go wireless, how do i know what i need to get in connection with what i have, does anyone know if best to buy from bt or another cheaper but just as effective option
my laptop has an inbuilt card, i have noticed a pop up showing there are wireless networks, 3 are unsecured and say others can view my stuff and one is secured with a password, can i use these as these are properly my neighbours or do i need to get my own ??

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.You could log on to your neighbours unsecured connection, but that is very illegal.Assuming you already have a broadband connection, all you need now is a wireless router.There are loads on the market,all at varying prices, but about �50 seems to be the average price.Its really easy to set up a wireless connection,but I would recommend that you ensure that you have at least WEP security encryption in order to stop your neighbours stealing your bandwidth.
