i have put some pictures onto a microsoft word document but i can't move them

right click on the picture and click "show picture tool bar", if it says "hide picture tool bar" find it on your page. The click on the little dog on the tool bar and select "square" you should be able to move it now let me know if it works

You can also:

Right click picture - select Format Picture - choose layout from the tabs - click square. (that gives the same as Potterfan has said.)

But if you then choose Advanced - you can untick - move object with text - this can be quite useful if you want to change the layout.
